A Perfect Sunday for Markets

Today, Sunday, 15 March 2026, the Gold Coast is a haven for those who love the outdoor market lifestyle. The iconic Village Markets (TVM) return to Burleigh Heads State School from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm. Known as the region's premier boutique fashion and lifestyle market, visitors can browse over 100 curated stalls featuring local designers, vintage treasures, and high-quality artisanal goods. Live music from local musicians provides a relaxed soundtrack for a morning of browsing and brunching.

Further north, the Broadbeach Art and Craft Markets take over Kurrawa Park from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. This beachfront tradition features more than 150 stalls of handmade crafts, unique gifts, and local produce. For early birds, the HOTA Farmers and Artisan Market at Bundall is open from 6:00 am to 11:30 am, offering the freshest local eggs, seasonal fruits, and gourmet pantry staples directly from the growers.

Laughter and Drama on Stage

The local theatre scene is bustling this afternoon with several major productions. The Gold Coast Theatre Alliance is hosting performances of the hit musical RENT, as well as Neil Simon’s classic comedy Rumours and Shakespeare’s The Tempest. These local productions showcase the depth of talent in the region’s creative community and offer a sophisticated way to spend the afternoon.

Comedy fans are also in for a treat as the GC Laughs Festival 2026 continues its run. The festival brings a variety of local and international comedians to stages across the city, providing a range of performances from stand-up to experimental improv. Check local box offices for matinee times and availability, as many shows are expected to draw large Sunday crowds.

Art and Cinema at HOTA

For a cultural indoor experience, the HOTA (Home of the Arts) cinema is screening the film JIMPA at 10:30 am in Cinema 1. Rated MA15+, this film is part of a curated weekend schedule that includes a mix of independent and mainstream releases. After the screening, visitors can explore the "Inside Pompeii: Origins of a European Way of Life" exhibition, which remains open to the public. This world-class exhibition offers an immersive look at the history and daily life of the ancient city through significant archaeological finds and artistic reconstructions.
