Official City Notice: Scheduled IT System Maintenance

The City of Gold Coast has issued a formal notice regarding scheduled system maintenance beginning Saturday, 28 February 2026. Starting from 7:30 PM, several online services, including digital payment portals and permit application systems, will be temporarily unavailable. This essential upkeep is expected to conclude by 7:30 PM on Sunday, 1 March. Residents are encouraged to complete any urgent online transactions, such as rate payments or animal registrations, prior to the Saturday evening cutoff. If services are unavailable during your attempt, please revisit the portal after the maintenance window has concluded.

Planning and Community Consultation

Residents are reminded that the public consultation period for the proposed Interim Local Government Infrastructure Plan (LGIP) Amendment is currently active and will conclude on Monday, 2 March 2026. This amendment outlines critical trunk infrastructure requirements and demand projections through to 2041. Documentation remains available for physical inspection at City customer service centers and libraries located in Broadbeach, Elanora, Helensvale, Nerang, and Southport. Additionally, the formal feedback period for the 2026 Animal Control Area Register is underway. This review seeks to designate new dog off-leash zones and animal prohibited areas across the city's parks and foreshores. Submissions for the register will remain open until 16 March 2026.

Public Health Advisories

Queensland Health maintains a regional health alert for the Gold Coast following confirmed cases of measles in the South East Queensland area. Health authorities advise residents to monitor for symptoms, including high fever, cough, and a distinctive blotchy red rash. Individuals who suspect exposure are urged to contact their GP via telephone or call 13-HEALTH before presenting at a clinic in person. Furthermore, a community alert remains in place for Pertussis (Whooping Cough). The City continues its seasonal mosquito management program, with surveillance and treatment teams currently focused on low-lying salt marsh environments following recent weather patterns. Residents are encouraged to assist by removing standing water from their properties.

Transport and Infrastructure Updates

Ongoing construction for Gold Coast Light Rail Stage 3 continues to impact traffic flow in the southern corridor. Motorists traveling between Miami and Burleigh Heads should anticipate a reduced speed limit of 40km/h and single-lane configurations in active work zones. Several bus stops along the Gold Coast Highway remain temporarily closed to facilitate track integration, with commuters directed to alternative stops at Memorial Park and Justin Lane. Additionally, construction activities for the Mudgeeraba Creek Causeway upgrade on Gold Coast-Springbrook Road are scheduled to commence in late February. Motorists should be prepared for changed traffic conditions and potential delays near the Tallebudgera Valley and Mudgeeraba precincts.
