Public Notice: City Service Updates and Community Advisories

Official City Roundup for Sunday, 1 March 2026
The City of Gold Coast provides the following public service announcements and official notices for Sunday, 1 March 2026. Residents and visitors are encouraged to review these updates regarding scheduled maintenance, public health, and infrastructure projects across the region.
Digital Services Maintenance Notice
A scheduled maintenance window is currently active for the City of Gold Coast’s digital infrastructure. From 7:30 PM Saturday, 28 February, until 7:30 PM tonight, Sunday, 1 March, several online services may be unavailable. This includes online payment systems, permit applications, and certain interactive mapping tools. Residents requiring urgent assistance that cannot be facilitated through the website should contact the City’s after-hours service line.
Public Planning and Consultation Deadlines
The formal public consultation period for the proposed Interim Local Government Infrastructure Plan (LGIP) Amendment is reaching its final stages. This amendment addresses the city's long-term planning for trunk infrastructure and development projections through 2041. Sunday, 1 March represents the final weekend for residents to review the proposed changes. Physical copies of the amendment remain available for inspection at regional libraries, including Broadbeach, Elanora, Helensvale, Nerang, and Southport. Properly made submissions must be received by the City no later than Monday, 2 March 2026.
Road and Infrastructure Updates
Motorists are advised of ongoing road closures and traffic restrictions across the Gold Coast. In the hinterland, Berrigans Road in Mudgeeraba remains under a full closure between Gold Coast Springbrook Road and Mark Way for essential pavement repairs. Additionally, Hardys Road and sections of Mount Cougal Road remain restricted due to residual damage from previous weather events. Along the coastal corridor, Gold Coast Highway traffic is restricted to a single lane in both directions between Dawn Parade and West Burleigh Road to facilitate Light Rail Stage 3 construction. A mandatory 40km/h speed limit is in effect through all active work zones.
Public Health and Environmental Advisories
Queensland Health has issued several advisories currently relevant to the Gold Coast region. A community alert remains in place for measles following confirmed cases in Southeast Queensland; residents should monitor for symptoms and contact health providers by phone before visiting in person. Furthermore, health officials have noted an increase in Pertussis (Whooping Cough) activity. Locally, the City’s mosquito management program is currently focused on salt marsh habitats and low-lying areas following recent rainfall to mitigate the risk of mosquito-borne diseases.
Community Events and Park Maintenance
Traditional Sunday markets, including the Robina Farmers Market at Robina State High School and the HOTA Farmers and Artisan Market, are operating as scheduled. However, park users are reminded that several touch football fields at Coomera Sports Park remain closed for major renovations until 2 March. In Burleigh Heads, high pedestrian traffic is expected due to ongoing surfing competitions, with temporary parking restrictions active along the foreshore.
