Community Consultation: Burleigh Heads Foreshore Revitalisation
The City of Gold Coast has officially opened community consultation for the Burleigh Heads Foreshore Revitalisation Project. Running from 3 February to 24 February 2026, this initiative seeks resident feedback on proposed upgrades to the iconic coastline. Key features of the plan include the reconstruction of the ageing seawall between Justins Park and Mowbray Park to protect against erosion and severe weather. Additional proposals include widening the Oceanway for improved accessibility, new picnic and barbecue facilities, and the potential addition of a swimming lagoon or a children's bike track at Rudd Park.
Public Notice: Infrastructure Plan Amendment
A public consultation period is currently active for the proposed interim amendment to the Local Government Infrastructure Plan (LGIP). This amendment aims to update development assumptions and planning horizons through to 2041. Residents can review the documents at City customer service centres in Broadbeach, Helensvale, Nerang, Southport, and Upper Coomera. Submissions are being accepted until 2 March 2026.
