Official City Notices Roundup: Friday, 6 February 2026

The City of Gold Coast has issued several critical public notices and consultation opportunities effective today. Residents and visitors are encouraged to review the following official advisories regarding city planning, infrastructure projects, and public health.

Community Consultation: Have Your Say on the City Budget

The City of Gold Coast’s annual Budget for 2026-27 is currently open for community consultation. Mayor Tom Tate has invited residents to provide feedback on the investment of $2.678 billion into essential services and new infrastructure projects. The survey focuses on community priorities such as the road network, public safety, and park maintenance. Feedback is being accepted through the 'GC Have Your Say' portal until 16 February 2026.

Burleigh Heads Foreshore Revitalisation Project

Public consultation is now active for the Burleigh Heads Foreshore Revitalisation Project. This project includes a critical reconstruction of the ageing seawall between Justins Park and Mowbray Park to protect the coastline against severe weather. Proposed upgrades also feature widening of the Oceanway and the introduction of new picnic facilities at Rudd Park. Residents can review the concept plans and submit feedback through 24 February 2026.

Local Government Infrastructure Plan (LGIP) Amendment

Notice is given that an interim amendment is proposed for the City’s Local Government Infrastructure Plan. The amendment updates development demand projections and planning horizons through 2041. The public consultation period for these changes commenced earlier this week and will conclude on 2 March 2026. Documents are available for inspection at city libraries including Broadbeach, Elanora, and Southport.

Public Health Advisory: Measles Alert

The Gold Coast Public Health Unit (GCPHU) has issued a health alert following a confirmed case of measles in the region. The individual visited several local areas while unknowingly infectious. Residents are advised to monitor for symptoms, including fever, cough, and a blotchy rash, and to ensure their vaccinations are up to date.
